Job Description
This role involves collecting, preparing, and delivering high-quality field data to support the discovery and development of geothermal resources, requiring collaboration with various teams to execute surveys and improve data collection methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, prepare, and deliver high-quality field data for geothermal resource discovery and characterization.
- Plan, execute, and process various field methods related to geophysical surveys.
- Collaborate with project geologists, data scientists, land teams, and drilling engineers to execute surveys and deliver data products.
- Continuously improve existing field methods and learn new techniques to increase discovery rates and support decision-making.
Requirements
- For the Geophysical Technician or Geologist role, candidates must have the experience to be considered at either technician or geologist level, with the specific level determined by their experience.
- Candidates must be willing to mobilize out of Salt Lake City, UT, with field work extending throughout the Western United States.
- For the Geotechnician position, candidates must be able to work full time at an hourly rate of 21-25 per hour, including a production bonus typically ranging from 350 to 450 total per day, and be available to work 10-12 hours a day on a 14 days on, 14 days off rotation schedule.
- Candidates must be able to work 10-12 hours per day during field work rotations.
- Candidates must be willing to receive a per diem of $59 per day for hourly employees at GSA standard rate, and have lodging covered by the company or reimbursed at GSA rate if lodging is unavailable.
- Candidates must be willing to work in conditions where a company vehicle is provided during field work rotations.
- Candidates must be eligible for benefits following a 90-day probationary period.
- For the Geologist position, candidates must be full-time salaried employees earning between $75,000 and $90,000 annually.
- Candidates must be willing to work paid holidays and accrue 18 days of PTO, with PTO accrual increasing based on tenure.
- Candidates must have medical, dental, and vision coverage, and be eligible for a 401(k) plan and paid parental leave.
- Candidates must possess the skills necessary to plan, execute, and process a variety of field methods related to geophysical data collection.
- Candidates must be capable of continually improving existing field methods and be involved or responsible for learning and deploying new methods in-house to increase discovery rates and inform decisions.
- Candidates must be able to collaborate effectively with project geologists, data scientists, land teams, and drilling engineers to execute surveys and deliver impactful data products.
- Candidates must pass pre-employment drug testing and background checks as a condition of employment.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation range: Geotechnician $21-25 per hour plus production bonus of $350-450 per day; Geologist $75,000-$90,000 annually
