Job Description
A Geology Technician supporting geothermal exploration by performing field measurements, sampling, and equipment maintenance to ensure high-quality scientific data collection, while assisting with daily field operations across the western United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scientific field methods and sampling to high standards
- Support daily field operations, including operation and maintenance of vehicles, UTVs, and light mechanical equipment
- Collaborate with geologists and geoscientists on geothermal exploration projects
- Employ geologic, geochemical, and drilling methods during fieldwork
Requirements
- Must have the ability to perform scientific field methods and sampling to the highest standards, ensuring accuracy and precision in field measurements.
- Must support daily field operations, including the operation and maintenance of vehicles, UTVs, and light mechanical equipment and tools.
- Must be willing to work 10 to 12 hours a day during 14-day work rotations, with a schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off.
- Must be able to mobilize out of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area for field work extending through the western United States.
- Must have an hourly rate expectation of $21.00 per hour, plus a production bonus typically totaling $350 to $450 per day.
- Must be willing to undergo pre-employment drug testing, including a hair follicle drug screening, and pass a background check.
- Must be capable of operating heavy machinery, as the position may involve operating heavy machinery.
- Must be eligible for full-time employment and benefits following the successful completion of a six-month field season.
- Must have the physical ability to support field activities that may include working in outdoor environments across the western United States.
Benefits & Perks
Hourly rate of $21.00 per hour plus a production bonus of $350 to $450 per day
