Job Description
The Equipment Geologic Technician supports geothermal exploration by performing accurate field measurements, sampling, and equipment maintenance in remote environments, working in small teams to collect high-quality data essential for identifying geothermal resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scientific field methods and sampling to high standards
- Support daily field operations, including operating and maintaining vehicles and light mechanical equipment
- Mobilize independently to remote field locations for data collection
- Work safely and effectively in challenging environmental conditions
- Collaborate with geologists and geoscientists during exploration projects
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver’s license with no major infractions in the past three years
- Strong commitment to personal and team safety
- Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and professionalism
- High degree of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in small, remote teams
- Willingness to commute long distances of approximately 300 miles and participate in extended field rotations of 14 days
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions at a fast operational tempo including heat, cold, rain, and snow
- Physically able to perform strenuous tasks such as bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure safe and effective performance of duties
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, with experience operating and maintaining field vehicles and equipment
- Skilled in GPS use and navigation in remote environments
- Proficient with computers, especially within the Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Directories)
- Ability to perform all scientific field methods and sampling to the highest standards
- Ability to support daily field operations, including the operation and maintenance of vehicles, UTVs, and light mechanical equipment and tools
Benefits & Perks
Compensation of $23.00 - $25.00 per hour DOE, plus a production bonus typically totaling $350 to $450 per day
Per Diem provided at the prevailing GSA standard rate
