Job Description

The role involves identifying, negotiating, and managing strategic partnerships to expand Xpansiv's presence in global environmental markets, focusing on launching new carbon and renewable attribute markets, integrating registries, and building relationships across the energy transition ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, structure, and secure strategic partnerships across environmental markets such as carbon, RECs, I-RECs, water, fuels, and power.
  • Develop commercial proposals and lead end-to-end negotiations with external partners.
  • Drive the creation of new carbon compliance exchanges and local I-REC marketplaces.
  • Oversee integration of new registries, exchanges, and data partners into Xpansiv Connect via open APIs.
  • Manage and maintain executive-level relationships with high-impact external partners to ensure long-term alignment.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Product, Engineering, Market Operations, Legal, Commercial) to execute partnership initiatives.
  • Monitor global environmental market developments and inform the company's strategy accordingly.
  • Represent Xpansiv in industry meetings, working groups, and market development forums.

Requirements

  • 8 to 12 years of experience in environmental commodities, exchanges, registries, or related infrastructure.
  • Proven success developing and closing complex partnerships in the environmental markets sector.
  • Deep understanding of environmental markets including carbon, RECs, I-RECs, and attribute tracking systems.
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills, with the ability to develop commercial proposals and lead end-to-end negotiation processes.
  • Ability to identify, structure, and secure strategic partnerships across carbon, REC, I-REC, water, fuels, and power markets.
  • Experience driving partnerships such as new carbon compliance exchanges or local I-REC marketplaces.
  • Experience overseeing the integration of new registries, exchanges, and data partners into platforms via open APIs.
  • Ability to own and manage executive-level partner relationships and ensure long-term alignment.
  • Strong relationship management and project leadership skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across technical, operational, and executive teams.
  • Educational background or equivalent experience in environmental commodities, infrastructure, or related fields (implied by the experience requirements).
