The Water Wastewater O M Project Manager oversees the daily operations, maintenance, safety, and administrative functions of water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance, system optimization, staff development, and effective communication with clients and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations.
Manage and coordinate communication with operations, maintenance, clients, contractors, and engineering firms.
Ensure system operation and optimization, staff development, and implementation of asset management programs.
Administer and oversee routine and capital repair, replacement projects, and emergency response activities.
Manage SCADA system operations and CMMS management.
Ensure regulatory compliance and prepare compliance reports for agencies and clients.
Develop, track, and manage project budgets.
Requirements
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent; relevant post-secondary education or certifications related to water/wastewater treatment are preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment plant operations, maintenance, or management.
Experience overseeing a staff of at least 7 union employees in the daily operations and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations.
Proven ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with operations, maintenance, client representatives, contractors, and engineering firms.
Demonstrated experience in ensuring system operation and optimization, staff development, and managing asset management programs.
Experience in administration and implementation of routine and capital repair and replacement projects.
Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations including process upsets, equipment failures, force majeure events, and alarm events.
Experience in managing and operating SCADA systems and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Knowledge of compliance requirements and experience in preparing and submitting compliance reports to regulatory agencies and clients.
Ability to develop, track, and manage project budgets.
Must be able to work during normal working hours Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with occasional evening meetings as needed.
Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to perform physical demands associated with overseeing plant operations, including walking, standing, and inspecting facilities.
Ability to work in a team environment and foster staff development and safety culture.
Must be eligible to work in the United States and pass employment eligibility verification through E-Verify.
