The Water Wastewater Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems at water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical systems and equipment essential to water and wastewater treatment processes.
Troubleshoot issues at lift stations, remote pump stations, and other critical infrastructure.
Support the operation of treatment facilities by ensuring equipment functions efficiently and in compliance with regulations.
Requirements
Ability to support the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities, including inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems and equipment such as pumps, motors, VFDs, valves, piping, blowers, and chemical feed systems.
Experience troubleshooting issues at lift stations, remote pump stations, and other infrastructure critical to water quality and environmental protection.
Physical ability to work with hands, including working in potentially confined or outdoor environments, and performing mechanical and electrical repairs.
High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure treatment plant operations are in full compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Willingness to participate in industry certification programs and support in earning, upgrading, and maintaining relevant certifications.
Availability to work flexible hours as needed to support plant operations and emergency repairs.
