The Water Wastewater Operator Trainee position involves shadowing certified operators to learn treatment processes, assisting with plant operations, managing work orders, and working towards obtaining necessary licenses to ensure the efficient and compliant operation of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Shadow certified operators to learn treatment processes for drinking and wastewater.
Assist with maintaining plant operations to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Manage work orders and computerized maintenance management system.
Order and manage plant supplies.
Work indoors and outdoors to protect water resources.
Requirements
Must be willing to work towards obtaining a water or wastewater treatment license.
Strong computer skills, including managing work orders and computerized maintenance management systems.
Ability to learn and understand the treatment process for both drinking water and wastewater.
Willingness to shadow certified operators at the treatment facility and in the field to learn processes and procedures.
Ability to assist with additional responsibilities that help keep the plant running smoothly and in compliance.
Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of the position.
Ability to work a schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday, based on operational needs, with flexibility to work different shifts.
Physical ability to work both indoors and outdoors, protecting water resources.
Must be located in or willing to work in Groveland, Florida.
