The Water Utility Technician performs routine maintenance and operational tasks on sewer collection systems, water distribution systems, and lift stations, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficient system performance while responding to emergencies and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance of sewer collection systems, conveyance piping, lift stations, valves, fittings, and water distribution systems.
Operate equipment for the rehabilitation of manholes and maintenance of the collection system.
Respond to and resolve customer complaints related to water and sewer services.
Assist in inspection processes of sewer lines and manholes, including CCTV inspection system operations.
Maintain records of daily readings, work activities, and inventory of parts, supplies, and chemicals.
Perform cleaning and maintenance of facilities, buildings, and grounds.
Assist in the location of utility lines and support asset management and maintenance programs.
Respond to emergency situations involving water and sewer systems.
Requirements
High school diploma or educational equivalent.
Must possess a valid Florida driver s license.
Florida Class C Collection System license is preferred.
Requires the ability to carry out verbal and written instructions.
Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees.
Must be willing to work schedules which may include weekend or holiday duty, carry a company provided telephone, and be willing to respond to emergencies at any time.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with availability for a rotating on-call schedule
On-call incentives: $200 per week on rotation, minimum 2 hours paid per call-out
