Job Description
The Water Distribution O M Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing water distribution systems, including pipes, valves, hydrants, and heavy equipment, to ensure efficient and compliant water service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the operations, maintenance, and repairs of the water distribution system
- Repair water pipes, valves, hydrants, and other appurtenances
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, track loaders, vac-trucks, and backhoes
- Weld and fabricate parts and tools for water system maintenance
- Respond to and resolve customer complaints related to water distribution
- Repair streets, driveways, and yards following installation operations
- Assist in locating, inspecting, and installing new water lines
Requirements
- Positions are available for licensed, experienced operations and maintenance professionals, and for inexperienced individuals looking for their first full-time job, or those in the water sewer industry seeking to make a career change.
- Participate in the operations, maintenance, and repairs of the water distribution system.
- Repair water pipes, valves, hydrants, and other appurtenances.
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment such as excavators, track loaders, vac-trucks, and backhoes.
- Weld and fabricate parts and tools related to water system maintenance.
- Repair water mains.
- Assist with responding to and resolving customer complaints related to water distribution.
- Repair streets, driveways, and yards following installation operations.
- Assist in locating and inspecting new water lines.
- Work schedule will require an irregular work schedule and overtime hours.
