Job Description
The Wastewater Treatment Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating wastewater treatment systems, performing laboratory tests, and maintaining equipment to ensure efficient and compliant treatment processes at a facility in Victorville, California.
Key Responsibilities
- Control the processing of wastewater and effluent by regulating influent and effluent flows
- Monitor the operation of wastewater treatment plant equipment
- Assist with basic laboratory testing and sample collection
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment
Requirements
- Possession of a Grade 3 State of California Wastewater Treatment License in order to operate independently.
- Work under the direct or general supervision of the Lead Operator and Plant Manager, learning and performing a variety of operational duties to control the processing of wastewater and effluent.
- Regulate influent and effluent flows within the system and monitor the operation of a variety of wastewater treatment plant equipment.
- Assist with basic laboratory testing, sample collection, and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in support of the wastewater treatment plant.
- Work schedule of four 10-hour shifts from 6am to 4pm, Sunday through Wednesday, after onboarding and training.
- Work rotating standby on call, including weekends, with a $200 stipend provided for on-call time.
- This position is eligible for a $2,500.00 sign-on bonus.
