Job Description

The Wastewater Operator is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and monitoring of a wastewater treatment facility, ensuring compliance with regulations, performing laboratory analyses, and responding to emergencies to protect water resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor the wastewater treatment facility and collection system daily
  • Perform daily rounds and process monitoring to ensure compliance
  • Conduct laboratory analysis and maintain accurate records
  • Manage process control and sludge thickening procedures
  • Perform general maintenance of equipment, facility, and grounds
  • Respond to emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for plant coverage outside normal hours

Requirements

  • Experience operating the overall daily operations and general maintenance of equipment at a Sequential Batch Reactor Wastewater Treatment Facility.
  • Ability to perform daily rounds, laboratory analysis, record keeping, process control, sludge thickening, maintenance projects, and general facility and grounds maintenance.
  • Work in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation for plant coverage outside normal workday hours.
  • Willingness to respond to emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
