Job Description
The Operations Compliance Specialist is responsible for implementing and supporting compliance systems at a water and wastewater utility site, ensuring operational efficiency and regulatory adherence through technical support and coordination with project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement, modify, and support compliance systems at the project site, including CMMS, WIMS, and GIS asset data management systems.
- Collaborate with project management and site operations staff to ensure effective utilization of compliance systems.
- Ensure work is completed efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with all applicable permits.
- Serve as a liaison between Operations and Engineering groups to maintain compliance throughout the facility.
Requirements
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent; relevant post-secondary education or certifications related to water treatment or environmental compliance are preferred.
- Experience working with compliance systems such as Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), HACH Water Information Management System (WIMS), and GIS asset data management systems, with a demonstrated ability to implement, modify, and support these systems in a water or wastewater treatment environment.
- Ability to work effectively with project management and site operations staff to ensure successful utilization of compliance systems and confirm work is completed efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with all applicable site permits.
- Ability to serve as a liaison between Operations and Engineering groups to ensure compliance throughout the facility.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment operations, regulations, and permits applicable to water and wastewater utilities.
- Strong organizational and technical support skills to maintain and support compliance systems on an ongoing basis.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with various teams and report to the Project Manager.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with diverse groups to achieve compliance goals.
