Job Description

The Lead Water Distribution O M Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing water distribution systems, including valves, hydrants, and related infrastructure, while operating heavy equipment and performing fabrication, customer service, and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in operations, maintenance, and repairs of the water distribution system
  • Repair water lines, valves, hydrants, and other appurtenances
  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, track loaders, wheel loaders, vac-trucks, and backhoes
  • Weld and fabricate parts and tools for water system maintenance
  • Respond to and resolve customer complaints related to water services
  • Repair streets, driveways, and yards following installation operations
  • Assist in locating and inspecting new water lines
  • Manage invoicing and inventory related to water distribution maintenance

Requirements

  • Participate in the operations, maintenance, and repairs of the water distribution system.

  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment such as excavators, track loaders, wheel loaders, vac-trucks, and backhoes.
  • Perform welding and fabricating of parts and tools related to water system maintenance.
  • Assist in locating and inspecting new water lines and related infrastructure.
  • Respond to and resolve customer complaints related to water distribution.
  • Repair streets, driveways, and yards following installation operations.
  • Be responsible for invoicing and inventory management related to water distribution operations.
  • Work schedule will require an irregular work schedule and overtime hours.
