Job Description

The Lead Operator is responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of multiple water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring efficient plant performance and regulatory compliance, while supporting professional growth and working outdoors to protect water resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the daily operations and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities
  • Operate treatment plant equipment to ensure efficient plant performance
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols

Requirements

  • Participate in the daily operations and maintenance of five Water Treatment Facilities and two Wastewater Treatment Facilities as directed by the Project Manager and Chief Operator.
  • Possess the ability to work outdoors protecting water resources.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment plant operations.
  • Hold valid licenses or certifications relevant to water and wastewater treatment operations, with the company willing to reimburse employees for earning, upgrading, and maintaining these licenses and certifications.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and operational procedures.
  • Be capable of performing routine operational tasks and troubleshooting at treatment facilities.
  • Possess physical ability to perform tasks required for plant operation and maintenance, including lifting, standing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and follow directions from supervisors such as the Project Manager and Chief Operator.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or education in water/wastewater treatment is preferred.
