The Lead Industrial Wastewater Operator is responsible for managing daily operations, monitoring processes, performing laboratory analyses, and ensuring compliance at an industrial wastewater treatment facility, primarily supporting a food and beverage client in Crossville, Tennessee.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the wastewater treatment facility as directed by the Project Manager
Ensure treatment processes meet control targets and comply with regulations
Implement policies and procedures for process monitoring, control, and troubleshooting
Supervise or perform collection and analysis of process samples
Adjust wastewater process systems, operations, and equipment to maintain compliance
Evaluate equipment performance, identify deficiencies, and assist with capital planning
Maintain records of chemical usage, flows, operations, and laboratory data in accordance with permits
Communicate with regulatory officials and client representatives as needed
Requirements
Possession of a valid wastewater operator license or certification appropriate for industrial wastewater treatment as recognized by local, state, or federal authorities.
Experience in the daily operations and maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility, including process control, troubleshooting, and equipment adjustment.
Ability to supervise the collection of process samples and perform in-house laboratory analysis, including interpreting laboratory results.
Knowledge of and ability to implement policies and procedures for process monitoring and control in wastewater treatment systems.
Experience coordinating with certified laboratories for additional analysis to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Ability to supervise or perform adjustments of wastewater process systems, operations, and equipment to meet local, state, and federal standards and permit requirements.
Experience developing and maintaining operational records such as chemical usage, flows, equipment logs, process checklists, diaries, and laboratory records in accordance with compliance permits and client requests.
Ability to communicate effectively with regulatory officials and client representatives as required.
Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including standing, walking, and performing manual tasks related to wastewater treatment operations.
Availability to work a schedule of eight days on, six days off, primarily on first shift, with potential for additional shift coverage during emergencies or staff absences, including 10-hour weekday shifts and 12-hour weekend and holiday shifts.
