Job Description

The Industrial Wastewater Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining wastewater treatment and groundwater extraction systems, performing inspections, preventative maintenance, data entry, and report generation to ensure efficient and compliant plant operations on a scheduled four-day workweek with on-call duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain industrial wastewater treatment and groundwater extraction systems as directed by the Plant Manager
  • Operate and maintain collection pipelines, distribution networks, and associated components
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on plant equipment
  • Conduct daily inspections and ground maintenance
  • Perform data entry and generate reports, including the Monthly Operating Report
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with administrative, safety, and operating policies
  • Coordinate with plant staff to ensure cost-effective operations and meeting budget goals

Requirements

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
  • Have experience in the operations and maintenance of industrial wastewater treatment systems and groundwater extraction systems.
  • Be capable of operating and maintaining collection pipelines, distribution networks, and all associated components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair of all plant equipment.
  • Conduct daily inspections and ground maintenance and landscaping related to the treatment plant.
  • Be responsible for performing data entry and report generation, including data for preparing the Monthly Operating Report.
  • Coordinate with other plant employees to ensure adherence to established administrative, safety, and operating policies.
  • Monitor and control assigned tasks to ensure cost-effective service that meets budget requirements.
  • Work a schedule of four days on, three days off, specifically from Sunday through Wednesday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional adjustments to meet operational needs.
  • Participate in a paid on-call rotation after completing training to handle after-hours calls.
