Job Description

The Drinking Water Treatment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining water treatment facilities, ensuring the delivery of safe, treated water to the environment, while performing technical and physical tasks such as testing samples, servicing equipment, and maintaining the facility. The role offers on-the-job training and opportunities for career growth in the water treatment field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain water treatment process equipment
  • Test and process samples in the laboratory
  • Input data into plant databases
  • Service and troubleshoot plant equipment
  • Perform general maintenance, housekeeping, and groundskeeping
  • Return treated water to the environment in compliance with regulations

Requirements

  • Must be willing to join as a full-time, year-round Water Treatment Operator at the Cohasset, Massachusetts facility.
  • Must be responsible for the full-time operation and general maintenance of the facility's Water Treatment process equipment, including testing and processing samples in the lab, inputting data into plant databases, servicing plant equipment, and performing physical tasks such as snow removal, housekeeping, and groundskeeping.
  • Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors, protecting water resources.
  • Must be able to study for and pass the water treatment exam and work towards obtaining a water treatment license, with support provided by the company.
  • Must be willing to work towards earning and upgrading water treatment certifications, as the company offers bonuses for each license level achieved.
  • Must have the physical ability to perform tasks such as testing, servicing equipment, snow removal, and groundskeeping.
  • Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment that involves both technical and manual tasks.
  • Must participate in the company's on-the-job training and mentoring programs.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety and operational procedures to keep treatment plants running efficiently and in full compliance.
  • Must be willing to work in a team environment and contribute to a respectful and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Must be legally eligible for employment in the United States, as verified through the E-Verify program.
  • Must be committed to maintaining industry certifications and licenses as required for the role.
