Job Description
The Accountant supports the corporate accounting team with general ledger management, month-end closing activities, reconciliations, tax filings, and audit preparations to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with general ledger and month-end closing activities, including preparing and entering journal entries
- Analyze, reconcile, and prepare monthly reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts
- Record and maintain fixed asset balances for US and Mexico entities, including adjustments
- Prepare high-level calculations such as monthly gross margin GL tie-out schedule
- Coordinate and reconcile annual fixed asset physical inventory with internal stakeholders
- Prepare and submit sales tax filings and other government filings
- Assist with income tax notices and filings in collaboration with external tax accountants
- Prepare schedules supporting the US consolidated tax provision and return
- Manage banking and employee master data in Oracle EBS in collaboration with relevant teams
- Prepare schedules supporting quarterly and annual SEC filings
- Support external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Maintain SOX controls and update SOX documentation
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience with both public and private industry required.
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work experience.
- Team oriented, responsible, prompt and courteous.
- Strong time management, organizational, written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and self-manage deadlines with a strong sense of accountability to manage workload.
- Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment.
- Intermediate technology skills, particularly intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Oracle EBS and Oracle ARCS is a plus.
- Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, etc.
