The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the Mexico accounting and close processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and local regulations, while coordinating with corporate teams and overseeing financial reporting, reconciliations, and tax filings.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the Mexico accounting and close process
Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and Mexico tax regulations
Lead accounting functions, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
Coordinate with the Corporate Controller and external auditors during year-end closing
Maintain accounting policies and procedures
Handle day-to-day accounting support and support the monthly closing process
Ensure compliance with internal controls and tax liabilities
Serve as the legal representative for the company in Mexico and manage SAT interactions
Ensure accurate and timely tax filings and financial reporting for Mexico
Supervise accounting teams and support staff
Requirements
Five (5) years of experience in relevant technical area in financial and administrative management.
Working knowledge of IFRS, USGAAP, and MEXGAAP accounting standards.
Experience with ERP software and Microsoft Office applications.
Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field is required; a graduate degree is desired.
Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
Sitting for extended periods of time.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, etc.
