Job Description
A Software Engineer at Toyota Research Institute will contribute to the development, integration, and deployment of autonomous driving systems on real vehicles, working across various components of the autonomy stack to improve performance, robustness, and real-world functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the integration and deployment of the automated driving stack on real-world vehicles
- Implement features, set up infrastructure, and improve performance and robustness of the autonomy system
- Collaborate with machine learning, simulation, and infrastructure teams to ensure the full stack runs reliably on vehicles during testing
Requirements
- A strong foundation in C and Python programming languages.
- Interest in real-world systems and vehicle software development.
- Experience working across autonomy systems, including helping implement features, setting up infrastructure, and improving performance and robustness of real-time autonomy stacks.
- Ability to work alongside senior engineers and researchers across multiple teams, gaining exposure to various parts of the system while deepening expertise in modern robotics and vehicle software.
- Capability to partner closely with end-to-end machine learning, simulation, and infrastructure teams to ensure the full stack runs robustly on real vehicles in closed-course, public road, and simulation testing.
