Job Description
A Robotics Intern at Toyota Research Institute will support and maintain robotics research hardware, improve lab workflows, and collaborate on operational projects to enable large-scale robotics research and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the robotics research lab, including organizing tasks, fulfilling fabrication requests, and fixing equipment.
- Support operations projects by collaborating with Research Operations Engineers to design and coordinate events.
- Enhance data collection processes and maintain testing and deployment documentation for research and engineering teams.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a relevant educational program in engineering, robotics, computer science, or a related field.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Research Operations Engineers to design and coordinate events, improve data collection processes, and maintain testing and deployment documentation.
- Experience or demonstrated ability to maintain and improve laboratory environments, including working with lab managers on organizational tasks, fulfilling fabrication requests, maintaining and fixing manufacturing equipment and robot systems, and improving lab workflow and tooling.
- Ability to support research projects by contributing to the maintenance and improvement of lab facilities and equipment.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid in-office role during the 12-week summer internship period.
- Availability to commit to a 12-week internship starting in summer 2026, with a focus on robotics research support tasks.
