Job Description
A research internship focused on developing machine learning models and systems that enable robots to better understand and execute human instructions through data-driven learning, interaction, and experimentation with both simulated and real robots.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop code prototypes for robotic learning tasks
- Interact with team members to collaborate on research
- Run experiments with simulated and real robots
- Create and refine data pipelines and model architectures for large datasets
- Participate in publishing research findings to peer-reviewed venues
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a university program related to robotics, computer science, machine learning, or a similar field, with a focus on research or development.
- Experience in creating working code prototypes and interacting frequently with team members to develop and test robotic systems or machine learning models.
- Ability to run experiments with both simulated and real physical robots, including designing and executing experiments to evaluate robot performance.
- Familiarity with working with large static datasets as well as dynamic, growing corpora of robot data, including data collection, filtering, and learning from unstructured real-world data.
- Designing data pipelines and model architectures that can efficiently train on massive, heterogeneous datasets at scale.
- Comfortable working in an in-office environment for the duration of the internship, which is a 12-week summer program in 2026.
- Demonstrated understanding of natural language processing, multimodal command interpretation, and instruction grounding in robotic systems.
- Experience or knowledge in learning from egocentric video data to instruct robots how to act and reason about tasks in the real world.
- Experience or knowledge in pretraining robot foundation models for dexterous manipulation using human data at scale.
- Ability to develop scalable methods for acquiring, filtering, and learning from diverse, unstructured real-world data.
- Strong problem-solving skills to develop and implement methods for learning from large-scale, heterogeneous datasets.
- Excellent communication skills to participate in publishing research findings to peer-reviewed venues.
