Job Description
A research internship focused on improving driving safety and performance through human-centered AI, involving experiment design and analysis of driver behavior, cognition, and emotional states using simulators and physiological measurements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and conduct experiments using driving motion simulators to study driver behavior and states.
- Analyze how driver traits and emotional, cognitive, and physiological states influence driving safety and performance.
- Develop and evaluate human-machine interface technologies to improve driving safety, well-being, and performance.
- Collaborate with researchers to produce scholarly publications in human-computer interaction or cognitive science fields.
Requirements
- Experience running experiments with human subjects
- Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Human Factors Engineering, or related fields
- Ability to design and run experiments in a driving motion simulator to study driver traits and states
- Experience with measuring physiological signals such as EDA (electrodermal activity), heart rate, and eye-tracking (experience with these signals is a plus)
