Job Description
The Human Interactive Driving Research Intern at Toyota Research Institute will engage in developing and applying machine learning and optimization techniques to advance automated driving and related technologies, working on novel research projects with the potential for publication.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on human interactive driving and machine learning optimization techniques.
- Apply mathematical optimization methods to enhance aspects of Toyota's business processes.
- Work on novel research questions related to diffusion models, continuous optimization, and generative AI.
- Collaborate with professional researchers to develop and potentially publish research findings.
Requirements
- Pursuing or completed a degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Experience or demonstrated knowledge in applying research to novel questions in the fields of Human Interactive Driving, Machine Learning, Optimization, or related areas.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with professional researchers.
- Relevant publications in the fields of Human Interactive Driving, Machine Learning, Optimization, or related areas, with a link to Google Scholar included in the CV submission.
- Availability to work in the Cambridge office for the duration of the 12-week summer internship in Summer 2026.
- Ability to contribute to research work that may lead to publication with professional researchers.
