Job Description
A research internship focused on developing perception, modeling, and control methodologies for high-performance vehicle driving, involving experiments with high-performance cars on a racetrack, to enhance vehicle safety and performance using machine learning and control techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop perception, modeling, and control methodologies for high-performance driving that infer and reason about uncertainty
- Apply knowledge to novel problems in the context of vehicle safety and performance
- Conduct experiments with high-performance vehicles on a closed racetrack
Requirements
- The candidate must be a research intern with knowledge in perception, modeling, and/or control methodologies for high-performance driving that infer and reason about uncertainty.
- The internship is a paid, 12-week program scheduled for Summer 2026.
- The internship role is hybrid, involving in-office work at Toyota Research Institute headquarters in Los Altos, CA, and experiments with high-performance vehicles on a closed racetrack.
- The candidate must have a full list of publications available on Google Scholar to include when submitting their CV.
- The candidate must demonstrate knowledge or experience relevant to developing new perception, modeling, or control methodologies for high-performance driving.
- The candidate must be able to apply their knowledge to novel problems and develop impactful research.
