Job Description
This internship involves developing perception, modeling, and control methodologies for high-performance vehicle driving, with a focus on inferring and reasoning about uncertainty, through research and experiments with high-performance vehicles on a closed racetrack.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop perception, modeling, and control methodologies for high-performance driving.
- Infer and reason about uncertainty in vehicle perception and control systems.
- Conduct experiments with high-performance vehicles on a closed racetrack.
Requirements
- Must be a research intern with knowledge in perception, modeling, and or control methodologies for high-performance driving that infer and reason about uncertainty.
- Must be able to develop new perception, modeling, and or control methodologies for high-performance driving.
- Must be able to apply knowledge to novel problems and develop impactful research.
- Must be available for a paid, 12-week internship during Summer 2026.
- Must be able to work in a hybrid in-office role at Toyota Research Institute headquarters in Los Altos, CA.
- Must have experience with experiments involving high-performance vehicles on a closed racetrack.
- Must have a full list of publications available via a link to Google Scholar when submitting CV.
- Must be able to work in California with a pay expectation between $45 and $65 per hour at the start of employment.
- Must possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience relevant to the role as determined by individual factors such as market location and organizational needs.
