Job Description
A Graduate Design Engineer in Civil Transportation Airfield Airport Design will work on aviation infrastructure projects, including runways, taxiways, and utilities, by preparing detailed drawings, performing calculations, and supporting construction administration at airports across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD for aviation projects
- Perform calculations for project dimensions and elevations
- Compute and tabulate quantities for construction projects
- Conduct preliminary surveys at project sites
- Assist in construction administration duties for airport projects
- Contribute to the rehabilitation and construction of runways, taxiways, aprons, utilities, roadways, NAVAIDS, fueling facilities, and security enhancements
Requirements
- Candidates must be a Graduate Civil Engineer with a strong interest in transportation engineering, specifically within the aviation sector.
- Candidates must currently reside or plan to reside within a regular commuting distance of Milwaukee, WI (MKE Wauwatosa, WI).
- Candidates must be able to work under a flexible hybrid work arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
- Candidates must be able to complete and pass all background and security requests required by state and federal agencies responsible for aviation operations as a condition of employment.
- Candidates must complete a standard pre-employment background screening, including Social Security verification, educational verification, review of criminal convictions, and driving history, upon acceptance of a conditional offer.
- Candidates must have the ability to prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD.
- Candidates must frequently perform calculations for project dimensions and elevations.
- Candidates must be capable of computing and tabulating quantities for projects.
- Candidates must perform preliminary surveys and construction administration duties as needed.
