Job Description
A Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Sword Health develops and implements AI and ML solutions to create personalized digital healthcare treatments, working on end-to-end care management systems and engaging in advanced AI workflows to improve clinical quality and accessibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement AI and ML solutions for personalized clinical care.
- Design and optimize end-to-end AI treatment management systems.
- Build and refine AI components such as prompt engineering, RAG implementations, and model fine-tuning.
- Create agentic workflows and integrate generative AI and classical machine learning techniques.
- Contribute to improving digital healthcare quality and accessibility through AI projects.
Requirements
- Candidates must possess a valid EU visa and be based in Portugal.
- Experience in developing AI and ML solutions, including end-to-end AI treatment management systems that handle complete care pathways from initial assessment through intervention selection and progress monitoring across various therapeutic domains.
- Proficiency in prompt engineering, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) implementations, model fine-tuning, and agentic workflows.
- Ability to leverage both generative AI and classical machine learning depending on the problem requirements.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML development best practices and deployment in healthcare or related fields.
- Experience working in a remote or hybrid work environment with flexible working hours.
- Educational background or professional experience in computer science, data science, machine learning, or related fields (implied by the seniority level).
