Job Description
The role involves overseeing trade control processes within a rapidly growing biofuels trading platform, ensuring accurate trade capture, safeguarding positions, and improving controls through system automation, while collaborating with various stakeholders to support business growth and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Own daily trade control across physical, financial, and ticket products
- Ensure accurate, timely, and complete trade capture, including handling amendments and exceptions
- Perform daily position and P&L sense checks, investigate anomalies, and ensure credible results
- Maintain market data and valuation integrity by monitoring curves, pricing assumptions, and reference data
- Collaborate with Front Office, Trade Operations, Risk, Finance, and Tech to provide constructive challenge
- Contribute to system development, reporting improvements, and automation initiatives to reduce manual work
- Embed trade control requirements in new products, structures, and process changes
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years experience in Trade Control, Product Control, Middle Office, Risk or a closely related role within a commodity trading or trading adjacent environment.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with a proven ability to work with complex data and tight deadlines.
- Solid commercial awareness and understanding of how trades actually make money and where they go wrong.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with Python, SQL or BI tools is a strong advantage.
- Comfortable operating in a constructive challenge role towards Front Office and senior stakeholders.
- Experience with ETRM systems or strong system affinity is a clear plus.
- Fluent in English.
