Job Description
The Credit Risk Analyst at STX Group is responsible for assessing and managing counterparty credit risk exposures across trading activities, analyzing financial and market data to support credit decisions, and enhancing credit risk management frameworks to ensure effective risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, assess, and quantify counterparty credit risk exposures from physical and derivative transactions
- Monitor current and potential future credit exposures and evaluate creditworthiness using financial analysis and internal ratings
- Support the development and enhancement of Credit Risk Policies, including credit limit setting and risk monitoring
- Conduct credit analysis on trading counterparties considering financial, market, industry, economic, and regulatory factors
- Provide feedback on credit appetite, mitigation strategies, and structuring solutions to commercial teams
- Produce and improve credit risk reports for daily monitoring and strategic portfolio analysis
- Collaborate with stakeholders across trade lifecycle, including legal, market risk, KYC, and front office teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in credit risk analysis within the commodity trading or financial industry of 4 to 5 years.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, commodities, and trading operations.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools and advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL and Python.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including Legal documentation, Market Risk credit exposures, KYC associated risks, and Front Office risk appetite.
- Experience in conducting financial statement analysis, market trend evaluation, and assessing industry, economic, and regulatory factors to prepare credit limit recommendations.
- Experience in monitoring current and potential future exposure, evaluating creditworthiness, and ensuring appropriate mitigation.
- Experience supporting the implementation and continuous enhancement of credit risk policies, including credit limit setting, periodic reviews, and concentration risk monitoring.
