Job Description
The Communications Specialist at Spark Climate Solutions is responsible for creating and managing diverse content across various channels, including blogs, social media, newsletters, and website updates, to effectively communicate complex climate-related topics and support organizational outreach and engagement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and coordinate content such as blogs, fact sheets, website copy, slide decks, and social media posts aligned with organizational goals.
- Manage outreach channels including social media platforms and email newsletters, ensuring consistent and high-quality content delivery.
- Develop and maintain an internal content library with program materials, key stats, templates, and graphics, ensuring materials are current and accessible.
- Update and support content on Spark's website, including routine content updates and contributions to the website redesign.
- Collaborate with program teams and leadership to plan, organize, and execute communications for key milestones and events.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field or Master's degree with 3 years of experience.
- Strong writing skills with demonstrated ability to turn complex or technical subject matter into clear, engaging content for non-expert audiences.
- Experience managing social media platforms especially LinkedIn and email marketing tools.
- Organized and detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple concurrent content projects and meeting deadlines consistently.
- Collaborative working style with the ability to take direction, ask good questions, and coordinate across multiple teams with different priorities and voices.

Initial salary range 85,000 - 105,000 a year
