Job Description

Solid Power is seeking a ​ Synthesis Slurry Intern ​ to join our talented team of engineers and scientists working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next generation, all solid‐state rechargeable batteries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and under the direction of Engineers to execute planned experimentation aimed at optimizing current synthetic and process routes for sulfide solid state electrolytes .
  • Assist Engineers in material characterization, data acquisition, and analysis .
  • Perform regular and required housekeeping .
  • Handl ing and proper disposal of hazardous materials and equipment .
  • Communicate experimental results to a broad audience and participate in experimental brainstorming and planning.

Requirements

  • Pursuing Chemistry , Materials Science, or related d egree from an accredited college/university.
  • Experience in material characterization techniques including rheolog y , DSC/TGA /SDT , XRD, FTIR , EIS .
  • Experience in synthetic and/or analytic chemistry.
  • Comfort with safe handling of hazardous materials and equipment is required .
  • Knowledge of Li-ion battery materials optimization .
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Some p rolonged periods of sitting at a desk .
  • Some prolonged periods of standing
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs daily.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary including, but not limited to eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full-face respirator or PAPR.
  • Hourly Compensation: $25/hour
  • Schedule: 15-20 hours per week during fall semester

  • This position requires access to technology, software, and other information that is subject to governmental access control restrictions, due to export controls.
