Job Description
A Production Operator at Solid Power supports the manufacturing of electrolyte powders for next-generation batteries by operating equipment, handling materials, ensuring safety and quality standards, and maintaining accurate records in a chemical production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate production and powder-handling equipment following SOPs
- Monitor equipment performance and report abnormalities
- Assist with equipment cleaning, changeovers, and basic maintenance
- Weigh, stage, and transfer raw materials and powders accurately
- Package, label, and seal electrolyte powder according to quality and safety standards
- Complete batch records, log sheets, and digital entries accurately
- Perform in-process quality checks and communicate deviations or safety concerns
- Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and chemical handling protocols
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and throughput
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in chemical manufacturing, powder production, or similar environments preferred.
- Comfortable working with powders, chemicals, and glovebox or controlled-atmosphere operations.
- Ability to understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), follow instructions, and maintain accurate records.
- Basic computer skills training provided on internal systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team-oriented environment.
- Available to work a day shift schedule Monday through Friday.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds daily.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary including, but not limited to eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full-face respirator or PAPR.
