Job Description
The Construction Oversight Manager oversees the successful execution of solar energy projects in the Tennessee Valley region by supervising on-site construction activities, managing teams, ensuring safety and quality standards, and coordinating project resources from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee construction activities on-site to ensure project execution aligns with plans and schedules
- Supervise and coordinate on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and personnel
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, conduct safety meetings, and enforce safety protocols
- Monitor construction quality, conduct inspections, and address deviations from standards
- Manage procurement and allocation of materials, equipment, and resources
- Develop and adjust project timelines, milestones, and resource plans
- Communicate project progress, issues, and updates to stakeholders through reports
- Identify and resolve construction challenges to prevent delays and maintain project momentum
- Monitor and control project expenses to adhere to budget constraints
- Work 100% on-site across project locations in the Tennessee Valley region
Requirements
- Ability and willingness to work 100% on-site at construction project locations across the Tennessee Valley region.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in managing construction projects, preferably in the renewable energy or solar industry.
- Current OSHA 30 First Aid CPR and USACE Construction Quality Control Management certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Strong knowledge of construction techniques, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools including Microsoft Office, Procore, and familiarity with USACE RMS CM and EM-385-1-1.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring high-quality work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
