Job Description

The Vice President of Product Management at Sila leads the strategic planning, development, and execution of the company's multi-product portfolio in the battery materials industry, overseeing cross-functional teams to drive growth, innovation, and customer success in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the company's multi-product portfolio strategy, including expansion and sunsetting of products.
  • Align cross-functional teams (R&D, sales, marketing, operations) to define product roadmaps and prioritize initiatives.
  • Create and maintain business cases for each product line, ensuring alignment with business metrics such as revenue, margin, and market share.
  • Set and monitor performance KPIs related to product adoption, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Lead go-to-market planning and execution in partnership with sales leadership to scale revenue.
  • Develop differentiated segment strategies based on customer personas and market use-cases.
  • Integrate customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and usage analytics into product planning.
  • Guide long-term platform and technology planning in collaboration with CTO and R&D leaders.
  • Represent the company externally with customers, partners, and in public forums.
  • Manage and develop leaders within Product, Marketing, and Segment teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, or related technical discipline
  • At least 5 years of experience in product management, with 10 years preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in senior leadership roles in later-stage or scaling B2B hard tech companies
  • Experience overseeing multiple product lines and interfacing with global commercial teams
  • Experience in high volume, global manufacturing products in industries including consumer electronics, automotive, and defense
  • Experience with customers in Asia is a strong plus
  • Deep knowledge of product lifecycle management, pricing strategies, segment marketing, and go-to-market operations
  • Proven ability to lead through influence, manage cross-functional teams, and operate effectively at the executive level
  • Must have a solid technical pedigree to interact with customers' operational technical personnel and engineering teams
  • Experience and knowledge of high volume manufacturing operations and concerns to properly represent customer needs and product scaling, integration, and manufacturing requirements
  • Physical ability to move items up to 15 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts
  • Ability to move long distances such as from building to building and be stationary for extended periods
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier, printer, etc., in a fixed location
