Job Description
A Sr. Staff Process Integration Engineer at Sila is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for battery materials, ensuring high yield, reliability, and quality in high-volume production, while integrating new technologies and collaborating across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze process data and defect trends to identify root causes of yield loss and implement corrective actions
- Develop and implement scalable process pathways for battery material synthesis
- Ensure seamless integration of new products and process technologies into production with focus on safety, quality, and performance
- Utilize statistical modeling and DOE to define operating windows, set material specifications, and predict product performance and risks
- Maintain detailed process specifications, flowcharts, and FMEA documentation
- Coordinate across departments to resolve integration challenges and ensure product standards are met
- Lead transfer of processes from R D or pilot line to high-volume manufacturing facilities
Requirements
- 8 years of hands-on process development and or engineering experience.
- Experience in materials-centric industries such as semiconductors, battery tech, specialty chemicals, or advanced composites is highly preferred.
- Deep expertise in and experience with methodologies used to transition products and processes from prototype designs to High Volume Manufacturing (HVM).
- Proven track record of using FMEA and root-cause analysis to solve complex integration challenges.
- Proficient in statistical software and the application of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Strong ability to report technical data to both technical teams and management stakeholders.
- B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or a related field.
- PhD is a plus.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $172,000 to $218,000 base pay
Work schedule: Travel as needed to manufacturing sites, up to 10% of the time
Work environment perks: Onsite work, use of personal protective equipment, ability to wear respiratory protection, physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing stairs, operating equipment, and working in confined spaces
