Job Description

The Quality Control Technician at Sila performs analytical testing on battery materials to support production and research, ensuring quality standards are met and equipment functions properly, while collaborating with various teams to improve laboratory processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform analytical testing on production and research development samples
  • Analyze test data, report results, and communicate unexpected findings
  • Coordinate testing priorities with manufacturing, engineering, and research teams
  • Maintain and improve laboratory operating standards, procedures, and systems
  • Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and operate testing equipment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or a relevant technical discipline preferred
  • 2 years or more of laboratory experience in a research or manufacturing environment required
  • Experience in performing routine analytical work efficiently, consistently, and with attention to detail
  • Experience in following and improving written procedures and documenting results in electronic systems
  • Experience in planning and prioritizing daily work activities, collaborating with team members and internal customers, and seeking guidance as needed
  • Experience in troubleshooting analytical instruments LDPSA, BET, XRF, ICP-MS, and others and escalating for help as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and drive improvement initiatives
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
  • Ability to move items up to 25 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts
  • Ability to move long distances such as from building to building and be stationary for extended periods of time
  • Ability to reach low shelves or items on the floor
  • Ability to perform precise and repetitive handling of a range of material quantities
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier, and printer in a fixed location

Benefits & Perks

Compensation/salary range: $37/hr to $45/hr, depending on education, experience, and skills
Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm, with shifts changing including night and weekend shifts after onboarding
Work environment perks: Onsite work, use of personal protective equipment, movement of items up to 25 lbs, operating laboratory and office equipment
