Job Description

A Process Integration Engineer at Sila is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for advanced battery materials, ensuring high yield, reliability, and performance while collaborating across R&D and high-volume production teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing process workflows for multiple products and unit operations
  • Plan and execute experiments to validate new materials and characterize processes and equipment
  • Analyze process data and defect trends to identify root causes of yield loss and implement corrective actions
  • Design and implement efficient manufacturing flows for new products ensuring compatibility and safety
  • Coordinate with design, equipment, and materials engineers to resolve integration challenges
  • Maintain detailed process specifications, flowcharts, and FMEA documentation

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of hands-on process development and or engineering experience.
  • Experience in materials-centric industries such as semiconductors, battery technology, specialty chemicals, or advanced composites is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in statistical software and the application of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Strong ability to report technical data to both technical teams and management stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or Master's degree (M.S.) in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
  • Ability to pass a respirator fit test and wear respiratory protection on a daily basis.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes.
  • Ability to move items weighing up to 50 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts.
  • Ability to move long distances such as from building to building and be stationary for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to reach low shelves or items on the floor.
  • Ability to enter spaces narrower than 3 feet.
  • Ability to climb stairs or over containment walls.
  • Ability to perform precise and repetitive handling of a range of material quantities.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier, or printer, in a fixed location.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to manufacturing sites, up to 10% of the time.

Benefits & Perks

Compensation/salary range: $107,000 to $136,000
Work schedule: Travel up to 10% to manufacturing sites
