Job Description
This internship involves developing and testing novel nanostructured battery materials, conducting experiments to characterize their properties, and supporting process and formulation development to advance energy storage technologies at Sila.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop process and formulation projects with the engineering team for nanostructured materials and products
- Fabricate product prototypes and test battery performance
- Design, conduct, and analyze experiments to characterize nanomaterials and prototypes
- Develop and implement analytical methods to analyze product prototypes
- Document and present experimental results, conclusions, and recommendations to stakeholders
Requirements
- Ability to make a six month commitment to working and developing skills at Sila.
- Studying toward or recently received a degree in chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, or related field.
- Prior experience with hands-on lab work is a must.
- Exceptional analytical and documentation skills.
- Ability to learn new skills and ask for help when needed.
- Capable of working independently with direction.
- Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes.
- Operate analytical equipment at a bench.
- Move long distances such as from building to building and be stationary for extended periods of time.
- Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier, printer, etc., in a fixed location.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $25/hr to $39/hr, with potential for overtime
