Job Description

A Sales Manager role focused on selling AI-enhanced battery cells for drones, robotics, and related applications, involving customer engagement, lead development, and industry representation to drive business growth in a cutting-edge battery technology company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop understanding of SES AI's battery portfolio and technology
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new leads into sales opportunities
  • Manage and nurture customer accounts and relationships
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to close sales opportunities
  • Meet or exceed sales and business performance goals
  • Execute outreach campaigns and marketing initiatives to promote products
  • Engage with potential customers to understand their technical challenges and present solutions
  • Represent SES AI at industry events, trade shows, and conferences
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of leads, contacts, and customer interactions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, legal, and engineering teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 1 to 5 years of sales experience, including customer-facing roles.
  • Proven sales and negotiation experience with a track record of successfully closing contracts, commercial agreements, or complex B2B deals.
  • Highly organized with the capacity to simultaneously manage a pipeline of active customer projects in various stages of development, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to travel globally when needed to attend trade shows and conferences.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration with sales, marketing, legal, and engineering teams from initial discovery to close and managing customer accounts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to pitch and adapt messages for stakeholders ranging from C-suite to engineers.
  • Deep understanding of customer voice and requirements, with the ability to pitch technical solutions and align with broader business goals.
  • An aggressive, proactive approach to identifying deal-blocking risks and solving problems before they impact timelines or budgets.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently, with the ability to drive execution and be outspoken about what is needed to close deals.
  • Demonstrated passion for innovation, batteries, and the defense sector, with eagerness to engage with partners and learn new technologies.
