The Machine Learning Scientist will lead research and development of advanced AI models, particularly Large Language Models, to accelerate scientific discovery in battery and material science, contributing to innovative energy storage solutions and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead research in machine learning for scientific discovery, focusing on multimodal Large Language Models and AI agents in battery and material discovery.
Integrate domain-specific data into LLM training and inference to enhance battery design research.
Investigate how LLMs approach problem-solving, planning, and solution generation related to battery design.
Troubleshoot and optimize the training process of large language models for performance and scalability.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical AI solutions for discovering new battery materials and advancing lithium battery technology.
Publish research findings and present at conferences to contribute to academic and industry discussions.
Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Computational Neuroscience, Cognitive Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong foundational knowledge and practical experience in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Large Language Models.
Proficiency in programming languages relevant to machine learning, with a strong preference for Python.
Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Proficiency in utilizing causal graphs for AI research and application.
A solid track record of innovative research, preferably with published work in relevant areas.
