Job Description

The Project Assistant Data Centers is responsible for coordinating and managing various aspects of data center and network infrastructure projects, including planning, execution, asset management, and stakeholder communication, to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of internal information and system-specific projects from initiation to delivery
  • Manage project scope, requirements, and feasibility assessments involving stakeholders
  • Develop detailed project plans, track milestones, timelines, and deliverables
  • Coordinate work across network engineers, data center technicians, and internal teams
  • Oversee asset and material management across data centers and warehouses
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including schedules, risk analyses, and process documents
  • Monitor project performance using metrics and KPIs, and provide status updates
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery
  • Facilitate communication with vendors and internal stakeholders through meetings and updates
  • Evaluate post-project results, analyze metrics, and recommend process improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S., B.A.) from a four-year college or university and 2 to 5 years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 to 5 years of project coordination experience in a high-pressure, and fast-paced environment, preferably supporting network hardware or data centers.
  • Experience with data center lifecycles and/or large-scale networks.
  • Ability to build productive internal and external working relationships.
  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Understanding of project management teams, resolving conflict, and meeting schedule timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments concurrently.
  • Self-starter able to quickly learn new tools and gain familiarity with new processes and technologies with minimal assistance.
  • Experience creating spreadsheets, presentation materials, and project process documentation.
  • Strong observational and analytical skills, including the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to track and report metrics and manage risks.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and communicate project updates to client executives.
