Job Description
The Electrical Lead manages all electrical power infrastructure aspects of hyperscale data center projects, ensuring design, construction, testing, and commissioning meet performance, budget, and reliability standards while coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage electrical power infrastructure across project phases from design to commissioning and turnover.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external engineers, utility providers, and stakeholders to define and implement power strategies.
- Review and approve electrical design deliverables, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and field clarifications.
- Serve as the on-site electrical representative during construction, monitoring contractor performance for quality, safety, schedule, and costs.
- Participate in site inspections, testing, and progress meetings to ensure proper system integration and performance.
- Support project scheduling, budgeting, cost tracking, procurement, and validation of electrical pay applications and change orders.
- Assist in commissioning activities, including testing, system validation, and documentation for project turnover.
- Identify and develop mitigation strategies for risks related to power delivery, procurement, or constructability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical design, project engineering, or construction management.
- Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage distribution systems, backup power generators, UPS systems, and NFPA, NEC, IEEE, and applicable local codes.
- Experience reviewing and coordinating with external engineering firms.
- Experience delivering large-scale, mission-critical, industrial, or data center projects.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
