Job Description
A senior technical leadership role responsible for designing, developing, and guiding the architecture of scalable platform systems that support Samsara's IoT-based products and services, with a focus on driving innovation, technical excellence, and customer impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive technology choices, implement services, and establish architectural patterns for the platform.
- Architect, design, and develop scalable software solutions.
- Lead teams in delivering products and capabilities that contribute to company revenue.
- Solve complex technical problems to enable successful product market launches.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and product teams to build tools and solutions with a platform-first approach.
- Act as a technical leader to influence platform technology and engineering culture.
- Represent Samsara externally to contribute to the company's engineering brand.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 8 years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions with at least 2 of those years in an architect or leadership role
- Stellar programming coding fundamentals
- 4 years of experience building large scale distributed systems
- 4 years experience leading cross-organization projects
- Mastery in data modeling and full-stack application architecture at a massive scale
- Programming mastery in Go, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, C, C++, or other similar languages
- Expert level knowledge of at-scale stream processing decision engines
- Demonstrated ability to ship production-quality software in a dynamic environment
- Experience working on large-scale enterprise software applications

Compensation/salary range: $157,360 - $281,000 USD annually
