Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer responsible for designing and building secure, scalable authentication and authorization systems within Samsara's Connected Operations Cloud, impacting global industries by ensuring safe and efficient physical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build reliable, standards-based authentication and authorization systems for millions of users
- Propose, implement, and guide system architecture across frontend, backend, databases, and APIs
- Collaborate with Product, Security, and Compliance teams to meet enterprise-grade security requirements
- Support and mentor engineering team members through code reviews and design discussions
- Engage with customers, industry forums, and security partners to maintain trust and credibility
Requirements
- 8 years of industry experience in software development.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Strong programming, coding, and design fundamentals.
- Professional experience working with a team to develop software.
- Deep experience building IAM systems including authentication, authorization, SSO, MFA, RBAC, ABAC, or adjacent security platforms at scale.
- Experience working across the stack and can navigate tradeoffs between frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
- Experience with the Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar programming languages.
- Experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining distributed, highly scalable software.
