Job Description
The role involves designing and developing impactful software products across the full technology stack to support Samsara's connected hardware and IoT solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-centric innovations in physical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and build high-impact software products from conception to deployment.
- Work across system boundaries, including firmware, hardware, and front-end, to deliver end-to-end customer value.
- Collaborate with product leadership to define, prioritize, and iterate on features based on customer feedback.
- Engage with sales, customers, and hardware/firmware teams to inform product development and rapid iteration.
- Contribute to understanding physical operations to develop relevant solutions.
- Embed and promote company cultural principles focused on customer success, long-term building, growth mindset, inclusivity, and teamwork.
Requirements
- 8 years of experience building software with a proven track record shipping products both 0-1 and at scale
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
- Entrepreneurial ownership mindset
- Demonstrated nuance and judgement building for speed and scale
- Experience working with AI ML teams
- Experience working with firmware (FW) and hardware (HW) teams
- Experience working with highly distributed, out-of-order data processing
- Experience with scalable, low-latency data pipelines that process millions of daily events
- Ability to architect and build high impact 0 to 1 software products for customers
- Ability to tackle complex, high-impact problems across the stack working across system boundaries from firmware to front-end to deliver end-to-end customer value
- Ability to partner with product leadership to define and prioritize features that deliver tangible impact, rooted in customer problems
- Ability to experiment and iterate rapidly, guided by feedback from GTM teams and customer engagements
- Ability to learn about the world of physical operations and get hands dirty
- Ability to focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, and Win as a Team as the company scales globally and across new offices
