Job Description

The Sr. Renewals Digital Experience Specialist is responsible for designing and optimizing automated, digital renewal processes for Samsara's commercial customers, aiming to improve renewal rates, reduce churn, and enhance customer experience through scalable e-commerce solutions and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and optimize automated renewal processes to improve customer retention and revenue growth.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to enhance the e-commerce checkout experience for renewals.
  • Define and manage logic for auto-renewal programs based on customer health scores and contract complexity.
  • Develop digital pricing strategies to incentivize renewals without manual intervention.
  • Create and implement communication plans for the renewal lifecycle, including email, in-app notifications, and SMS.
  • Audit and improve the Contract to Cash process to eliminate manual hurdles and streamline billing and signatures.
  • Lead A/B testing for renewal offers, UI layouts, and messaging to maximize conversion and retention rates.
  • Train and enable sales and renewals teams on digital renewal processes, handoff criteria, and escalation protocols.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in SaaS GTM, with a minimum of 3 years specifically focused on digital-led sales or automated renewals.
  • Deep familiarity with subscription billing and e-commerce platforms such as Stripe, Recurly, Zuora, and their integration with Salesforce CPQ.
  • Proven track record of managing contracts and navigating the legal compliance nuances of auto-renewal laws.
  • Experience using Marketing Automation tools such as Marketo, Braze, or Gainsight PX for digital marketing nurture strategies.
  • Understanding of how to use in-app telemetry (e.g., tracking customer activity like checking their Safety Inbox in 30 days) to trigger proactive digital interventions.
  • Ability to model the impact of different renewal price increases or multi-year discount incentives on churn and lifetime value (LTV).
  • Ability to define and track key metrics such as Involuntary Churn and Digital Conversion Rate.
  • Experience moving an organization from manual processes to automated-first workflows, including presenting complex technical findings to non-technical executive audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
