Job Description
A full stack Software Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining in-vehicle safety and user interface features that enhance driver safety, engagement, and operational efficiency within Samsara's Connected Operations Cloud platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deliver full-stack software features for the In-Vehicle Experience team.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and support teams to build and improve products.
- Own the operational health and scalability of production systems.
- Contribute to core architecture, product roadmap, and engineering best practices.
- Solve complex technical problems and implement end-to-end solutions.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of full stack experience in software development.
- Experience shipping features that are used by customers and iterating on customer feedback to inform what to deliver next.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to collaborate, with the ability to explain why a solution is built a certain way and be open to suggestions from other engineers and stakeholders.
- A growth mindset and excitement around building new skills, expertise, and having curiosity.
- Comfortable with building out end-to-end solutions.
- Willingness to work across the full technology stack, regardless of a preference for front-end or back-end development.
- Experience with Go, GraphQL, Typescript, and React (familiarity preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with embedded systems and software.
- Experience with taking Large Language Model (LLM) systems to production.
- Experience effectively collaborating on a geographically distributed team.
- Experience maintaining software products at scale.
