Job Description
A Software Engineer on the Device Services team at Samsara develops and maintains platforms and frameworks to support the management of IoT devices, enabling critical customer experiences across the device lifecycle and driving scalable innovation for physical operations industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, build, test, and deliver full stack features in collaboration with product teams
- Maintain and support production systems owned by the team
- Develop frameworks to enable product teams to build customer solutions
- Grow technical skills across multiple technologies such as Go, Python, GraphQL, Typescript, React
- Mentor fellow engineers and contribute to team knowledge
- Estimate, communicate, and deliver on project milestones
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and engineers
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience building customer-facing applications.
- Strong programming coding fundamentals in a language such as Java, Python, or Golang.
- Experience designing and architecting large, high-scale systems.
- An ability to estimate, communicate, and deliver upon project milestones with your team.
- Experience with a public cloud such as AWS.
- Familiarity with multiple tiers, such as React Frontends and Microservices.
- Contributed heavily to driving significant value to their customers.
- Curiosity about our customers, and eagerness to improve their day-to-day experience.
- Seeks to iterate on new products based on customer feedback.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline.
