Job Description
A Senior Security Engineer responsible for managing threat modeling programs, identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities, and collaborating with engineering teams to enhance the security posture of Samsara's connected operations platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the ongoing operation and maintenance of Samsara's threat modeling program.
- Detect, assess, and escalate security risks within the Samsara ecosystem, recommending appropriate mitigation steps.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to track, support, and guide the remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
- Participate in security incident investigations related to high-profile vulnerabilities.
- Generate and distribute compliance reports in coordination with the Vulnerability Technical Program Manager.
- Contribute to documentation and process improvements to enhance risk management workflows.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with demonstrated impact for application or product security and threat modeling in an enterprise environment.
- Deep familiarity with OWASP Top Ten, the STRIDE threat modeling framework or equivalent such as PASTA or DREAD, and MITRE ATT&CK.
- Experience defining and driving SDLC adoption with business-focused engineers.
- Experience managing Bug Bounty programs such as Bug Crowd.
- Strong familiarity with common security vulnerabilities and the ability to judge their severity and impact on the business.
- Experience coding with Python or GoLang.
- Security certifications such as CISSP, AWS Certified Security Specialty, or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of FedRAMP and other regulatory security requirements.
- Experience with Semgrep or Wiz.
